The Red Lion East Haddon
The Red Lion at East Haddon, Northamptonshire is one of a group of three pubs owned by entrepreneur, Nick Bonner. The countryside gastro pub has a local reputation to die for and numerous 5* reviews on Trip Advisor. The white chocolate box building with traditional thatch roof belies the modern, smart bar and restaurants that are behind its doors.
Owner, Nick Bonner,is very specific about the qualities he is looking for in the equipment he chooses for his pub operations. He explains,
“We have a number of Classeq machines across the three sites, including two dishwashers, a glass washer and Ice-O-Matic ice machine. It was the efficient performance, reliability, ease of use and value for money that first attracted us to these brands.
“Clean glasses and crockery are a must, and we’ve found the Classeq machines are dependable and deliver on results. We’ve saved costs in wages, and operational time too, as there is no need to polish plates or glasses when they come out of the machines they’re all polished and gleaming ready for chefs to plate-up or drinks to be served.

Space limitations in the bar and operation in a hard water area were also considerations for The Red Lion when specifying their glass washing equipment. From Cash and Carry to Ice-O-Matic
Ice provision was also an issue at the Tollemarch Arms before the investment was made in an Ice-O-Matic machine, as Nick explains,
“We used to have to buy ice from the local cash and carry and store it, which was far from ideal. It also didn’t look as nice as the lovely clear, quality ice we now serve in our premium drinks. The machine is excellent and always keeps up with demands of the bar”.
